Billy Joel and Elton John kiss and make up, celeb- tyle

Elton John and Billy Joel have been openly infighting since John gave Joel some "tough love" in a Rolling Stone article, deriding him for giving originality a backseat to alcoholism.

But Friday the two choir seemed to attain some sort of ceasefire. John spoke out to the journal out of annoyance over the years, saying the melodic pair have had to stop explore dates because of sickness and alcoholism on Joel's part.

The bespectacled British musician almost scolded Joel in print, saying that going to "rehab light" wasn't the same as conventional rehab. John, who also had his run with drugs and alcohol, said he got clean because he went to programs that required him to clean floors, not watch TV.

"At the end of the day, he's coasting," John said. "I always say, 'Billy, can't you write another song?' It's also fear or idleness. It upsets me. Billy's a puzzle... I love you, Billy, and this is tough love. Billy, you have your demons and you are not going to get free of them at rehab light. You've got to be grave. People worship you, they love you and admiration you. You should be able to do something improved than what you're doing now."

Elton John trashes singers, reality stars

About music bands, singers and reality stars like Westlife, Cheryl Cole and Kim Kardashian blunt remarks has been made by singer Elton John.

For Cole and Kardashian, and for pop bands like The Saturdays and Westlife,I had only words of criticism said the star.

'Frankly, they all sound the same. 'It's hard to tell Girls Aloud from The Saturdays. And then there's Cheryl Cole... it's all crap. British pop music like that is the worst, it's just awful, it could have been made by anybody,' says John .

He kept going with dislikes for reality stars, and said: 'Who the f*** is Kim Kardashian? Some stupid old tart from somewhere. Reality has killed talent.'

'Go and see Take That or Westlife - and how much of that is live? I know Gary Barlow can sing live, that solves that one. I think they genuinely do sing their stuff, but 99 percent of the other f****** Herberts out there can't sing a note,' he added.

The 'Candle in the wind' singer feels the soul lacks in the music of the new generation.

'The records I love are all about musicianship...when you put a bunch of musicians in a room together there's human soul, there's magic in there. That's not happening now.'
