Elton will homecoming arrival to London's Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 for a very special evening of activity in help of the Royal Academy of Music.
Elton and Ray Cooper will be united on this stunning bill by special guest Teddy Thompson, the Royal Academy Musical Theatre Company, instrumentalists from the Royal Academy of Music and compere for the evening, actor and comedian Stephen Fry.
This latest occasion with the Academy is another example of Elton's tradition of leading by example. It is hoped other generous donor will follow his lead in supporting his 'home' educational institution - making it possible for more talented young musicians, whatever their backgrounds, to complete their thoughts by studying at the Royal Academy of Music.
Elton says, "I have always regarded my training at the Royal Academy of Music as vitally important to the development of my career as a musician."

Elton to play Holkham Hall, Norfolk
Fans of Elton John have been totally blown away and electrified by the high energy of his latest show. Get your dose of musical prodigy Elton John at his next concert.
Elton and the band have announced a special outdoor summer show on Sunday 14th June, 2009 at the spectacular Holkham Hall, near Wells Next The Sea, on the North Norfolk coast of England.Concert-goers are invited to bring a picnic blanket and enjoy an al fresco evening in the company of the Rocket Man and his band as they perform on the historic cricket ground adjacent to the Hall.
In a departure from his normal touring schedule of seated arenas and sports stadia, Elton will play in a picnic-style setting with an early show which will finish by 9pm, allowing his audience plenty of time to get home.
This will be Elton's first Norfolk appearance since his 2005 sell out concert at Norwich City's Carrow Road, which saw over 22,000 fans enjoy an incredible night, and is one of only two scheduled concerts in the UK for 2009.
Elton said: "There's something very special about playing at such a historic site. One feels very grand with a stately home as a backdrop! I love playing in Britain on a warm summer's evening and having an enormous picnic under an open sky is the perfect way to start. We'll be pulling out all the stops to make it a fantastic show."
Viscount Coke said: "We are delighted to be hosting Sir Elton John at Holkham Hall next year. It is a real honour for us to welcome him back to Norfolk after an absence of four years, and for him to have chosen Holkham as the venue."

John and Bernie Taupin were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1992.
John was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.

In September 1997, Taupin altered the lyrics of "Candle in the Wind" for a special version mourning the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, and John performed it at her funeral in Westminster Abbey. Sir Elton John has admitted that his marriage to sound engineer Renate Blauel in the 80s was a mistake and says he is truly sorry for the heartache he caused his wife.
In an interview for a VH1 documentary, a very candid John said of Renate, "She is the classiest woman I have ever met and I do love her desperately, but it wasn't to be. I was living a lie. I'm not exactly proud of that, to say the least."Elton and Renate married in Sydney in 1984 but divorced in 1988.There were no children.Renate was the sound engineer for Human League's 'Hysteria' album. She now lives the life of a recluse in Surrey, UK.
